An Opportunity That I Will Forever Cherish

Words cannot describe how incredible it was to present at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) national conference in Nashville, TN last month. Thank you, AANP, for the invitation to speak about a topic near and dear to my heart. You have fulfilled a professional dream of mine inside and out of lecture room 205. After my presentation, I bumped into the legend that has shaped my career aspirations, drive, and dream to change the world as a nurse practitioner. Meeting Dr. Loretta Ford was a full-circle moment. I find it serendipitous to happen by chance walking back from presenting on a topic so meaningful to both my personal and professional worlds. I know I’m headed in the right direction and will never stop teaching others about autism spectrum disorder and its related traits to cultivate awareness, understanding, and acceptance of neurodiversity.
